The Department of International Economic Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University was established in April 2017 by the decision of the Academic Council of the University (Minutes №4 on April 26, 2017). The main priority of its creation was the need to train highly qualified personnel who would be able to coordinate the processes of economic integration, respond to the challenges of globalization and make adequate management decisions in foreign economic activity at the state, region, administrative units and individual enterprises. Training of specialists in international economic relations is of great importance for Ivano-Frankivsk region, as the basis of its foreign economic relations is the deepening of cooperation with EU countries; and the fact of signing and ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and the legitimation of the visa-free regime, take the scope of this cooperation to a radically new level. Diversification of the region’s capabilities in the field of development and implementation of cross-border and Euroregional cooperation projects, opening of potential markets for enterprises, interest of investors and attraction of foreign capital, improvement of standards, deepening of cooperation in existing projects, etc. All these prerequisites for the economic development of Ukraine in general and Ivano-Frankivsk region in particular, require professional support and staffing, this is what the Department of International Economic Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University should provide.
Training of specialists in the specialty 292 “International Economic Relations” is carried out by the Department of International Economic Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University at the standards of education “Bachelor” and “Master”. In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 51-л dated March 17, 2017, the licensed capacity of students of the EP “Bachelor” is 75 people, and the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 111-л dated May 26, 2017 defines the licensed capacity of students of the EP “Master” in the amount of 50 people.
The work of the department synchronizes the best practices and high standards of PNU in the field of scientific, teaching, methodological, publishing, educational and organizational activities. The department establishes productive relations with national and foreign universities, establishes cooperation with leading scientists in the field of international economic relations, carries out a careful selection of scientific and pedagogical staff.
